What to Expect

Guinjata Bay in Mozambique is so lovely that we don't only recommend it to all our guests, but we put our money where our mouths are by making this our regular vacation destination! The team at Pioneer are all scuba-enthusiasts and love taking a few days in December to escape to this tropical paradise on the east coast. 

Activities are plenty, views are amazing and the people who you will be interacting with are truly welcoming. Whether you would like to just bathe in the African sun next to the warm Indian ocean or have the time of your life with all the activities - and of course the beach bar - staying with Pioneer in Guinjata Bay is definitely a must-do on your list!

General Infrastructure
Cellphone reception is fairly good within walking distance of wherever you are, you might have to walk up a sand dune to increase reliability if the call is important. The beach bar & restaurant has reliable WiFi about 80% of the time for important meeting calls, etc.
The local language in Mozambique is Portuguese. Adequate English is generally understood by the locals on the beach but not by the general population. If you have any special requests the lodge manager, dive centre manager & restaurant manager will all be able to assist you in fluent English.
Accommodations range from inexpensive to 5-star Luxury.
Emergency services are available, but will not be immediate. The local dive-centre, however, are certified first-aid personnel who will be able to assist until further help arrives.
